Klondike Solitaire. To many people, the word “Solitaire” is synonymous with what is actually the Klondike Solitaire game. You could probably blame Microsoft Windows with its generic application named Solitaire for cementing Klondike Solitaire as the King of Solitaires.
In Klondike, your goal is to build ascending piles from Aces to Kings of the same suit in the 4 foundation piles. When all 4 piles are complete, you win the game.
On the tableau, you build descending piles of alternating color cards from Kings to Aces.
In traditional Klondike Solitaire rules, only Kings are allowed to be placed on empty piles in the tableau.
You also have access to the cards in the stock pile. Depending on which rules you are using, cards are dealt from the stock pile either 1 at a time or 3 at a time.
